Easter 2008

We had a great Easter with my brother, Ron, my sister-in-law, Nancy and our niece, Ellen.

The kids were thrilled to find their Easter baskets waiting for them on the dinning room table when they woke up in the morning. Lots of goodies and Benjamin was genuinely thrilled about every last thing in his basket. It was really cute.

We were off to church at 10:30 and enjoyed a nice service which was followed by an Easter Egg Hunt. The kids had a ball finding eggs and the weather was pleasant. Samuel LOVED the egg hunt too. He was happy having an egg in each hand clapping them together.

After church we enjoyed our Honeybaked Ham which we picked up the day before (on our way home from D.C.). I generally refer to Easter as my "Cook free Holiday" due to the fact that usually our kids are exhausted after church and it's easy to just throw a ham from the Honeybaked Ham store in the oven along with some pre-made sides. All was a success and besides Benjamin not really taking a liking to ham, we enjoyed our meal.

Both Benjamin and Samuel took good naps then when they woke up we headed outside to our side yard where there were tons of eggs for the kids to search for. It really spread out the excitement of the day. Benjamin had received a stomp rocket too so we all took turns at launching it into the air. He had a ball with it. And the weather proved to be even more delightful at that point.

Unfortunately, we did not hear from Don over the Easter holiday due to the fact that he was traveling within Iraq. But we've heard from him since and he's doing good. And we're all happy to be on this side of the downward slope until his return!
Overall, Easter must have been a great day because Ellen proclaimed that it was her "best Easter ever!"

And the day our guests departed I asked Benjamin what he liked best about his visit with Ellen and he said "coloring eggs."
(Sorry for another montage of photos again so soon. I just had so many from Easter that I wanted to share!)
