Another Funfilled Day

This morning we went to Sunday school and church for the last of a series on the missionaries our church support. It has been pretty inspirational to listen to the different stories and adventures that these missionaries have had to share. Today's missionary is serving with the Yanomami tribe in the jungles of Venezuela. He has visited our church before but it is always interesting to hear more from the Dawsons. I ended up buying some of their books so it should be interesting to learn even more about them and then I plan on sending these off to Don.
After church and lunch, Benjamin and Samuel took good naps but their nap times didn't overlap too long today. I managed to get about a half hour nap which I really needed to recharge a bit after starting our day around 6:30 a.m. (I'm still a lil under the weather but am feeling much better overall).

After nap time we were off to Trailside Park which is just a short drive away. We met Nelly, Brooke and Reed there.... and David met up with us after he returned from the Redskins game. Benjamin and Brooke had a blast playing and Samuel enjoyed a lil time in a swing too. In the photo of Benjamin and Brooke, Brooke is in the motorcycle seat and Benjamin is in the sidecar. hmm. She's really taken the drivers seat already... watch out Dave and Nelly! After the park, we headed to their house for pizza and more play time for the kids. Benjamin had a blast and Samuel kept pretty busy exploring all their toys too. I tried to sit Samuel and Reed next to each other for a picture but Samuel wouldn't stay still so I snapped this photo of the two of them. (They are only a few weeks apart in age and are sure to be good buddies!)

We returned home just before bedtime and the boys both went down pretty easily tonight.

Don e-mailed today in response to yesterday's phone call and blog post and said...

"It was awesome to talk to you. And I enjoy talking to you sometimes when you are doing things. It is kinda like being there and taking part in it a little. Sometimes it is challenging if you are overwhelmed on your end...but you seemed to have it well in hand."

(Boy, do I have him fooled. Just kidding!).

He also said:

"There were actually a couple of rain drops. There have been a couple of drops today as well, but it hasn't actually been a real rain yet. It is getting close to the rainy season in November. I am glad I will be on leave part of that. They say it gets really muddy around here. I can only imagine."
and in in response to the photos of Benjamin enjoying his day at the farm yesterday, he said:
"I think we have a future farm boy."
That, I tend to agree with, Daddy-O!

Well, tomorrow, being Columbus Day, Benjamin does not have school so we will enjoy the day together.
