Our Blue Button Less Boy

Sunday after church, I managed to capture a bunch of pictures of Benjamin. It just happened to be his fourth birthday and looking at these pictures makes me realize what a lil man he is becoming. He seems to be growing almost daily! And he's totally thinned out. Some days I'm not sure how his pants stay up around his skinny lil waist.

He has such a fun busy personality and is always coming up with something new. He has such a great imagination and I love to listen to him when he's busy playing with toys by himself. He gives his trains, dinosaurs, cars, etc. lil voices and their conversations (via his imagination) are pretty cute to hear.

He is becoming more and more independent and loves to help me in any way he can. He is thoughtful and sweet and a great hugger! Of course, he has his moments where he pushes my buttons and tests his limits but such is the life of a four year old boy.

Lately, he has been calling Samuel, Jack and I names. Luckily, he is not exposed to too many obscene words so he thinks that "Baby" and "Sponge Bob Square Pants" are bad words. Yes, the name "Sponge Bob Square Pants" is no longer allowed in our house! Both his sitter, Natalie, and I do not allow the show to be watched in our homes (it's just not appropriate for this age). So, somehow he and Jack have turned that into a bad thing to call one another. And, on occassion, I have to admit, I have been called "Sponge Bob Square Pants!"
He is quirky in so many ways. Obsessed with the color blue and still not fond of button shirts (which is adding to my latest dilemma of what he's going to wear for picture day next week at school! Perhaps exactly what he has on in these pictures posted!).
The day after his birthday party, he declared that when he turns five he will have a race car party. "Benjamin, your birthday is 365 days away." (What a planner! With two parents who are procrastinators, I'm not sure where he gets that!)

It will be interesting to watch him grow and change as the years pass. I just wish it wouldn't happen so fast. I wonder if he will always dislike buttons! and LOVE the color blue. Time will tell. For now, my blue button less boy is such a joy!
